If you have 6 days, you can comfortably cover the Mughal Gardens, Dal Lake, the Gondola ride in Gulmarg, and the Lidder River in Pahalgam. If you have 8-10 days, we highly recommend extending your trip to the high-altitude meadows of Sonmarg (the gateway to Ladakh) or the offbeat tranquility of Doodhpathri (the Valley of Milk).

Kashmir is incredibly hospitable. Thousands of solo female travelers visit every year without any issues. We provide 24/7 dedicated local support and only use verified hotels and drivers to ensure absolute peace of mind.
2. Do I need a permit for visiting border areas?
For Indian citizens, areas like Gurez Valley or Uri generally only require ID card registration. Foreign nationals require a Protected Area Permit (PAP) for certain border zones, which we can help facilitate.
3. Is veg food readily available in Kashmir?
Yes! While Kashmir is famous for its meat-based Wazwan, every restaurant and hotel offers high-quality vegetarian food. Pure veg and Jain food options are also common in tourist hubs like Gulmarg and Srinagar.
4. Can I get a mobile connection in Kashmir?
Only postpaid mobile connections work for non-residents in J&K. If you have a prepaid SIM from outside the state, it will not work. We recommend switching to a postpaid plan (Airtel/Jio/BSNL) before your trip.

Yes, very much so. All our partner houseboats on Dal and Nigeen Lakes are registered with the Department of Tourism. They feature modern amenities, attached bathrooms, and a dedicated 'houseboat man' available 24/7 for assistance.
7. How should I handle altitude sickness?
Srinagar is at ~5,200 ft, which is generally fine for everyone. However, if you're visiting Ladakh or Gulmarg Phase II (~13,800 ft), we recommend resting for the first 24 hours and staying well-hydrated.
8. Is there an ATM network in tourist areas?
ATMs are widely available in Srinagar, Pahalgam, and Gulmarg. However, digital payments (UPI) are now accepted almost everywhere, including by Shikara wallas and small gift shops.
9. What are the roads like in Kashmir?
The main highways connecting Srinagar to Gulmarg and Pahalgam are excellent. However, offbeat roads to Gurez or certain high-altitude passes can be rough and seasonal. We use only high-clearance vehicles for such routes.
10. Do I need to tip local guides and drivers?
Tipping is not mandatory but is a standard gesture of appreciation for good service in the tourism industry. A typical tip ranges from ₹200 to ₹500 per day for drivers/guides.
